BBC programming during Jewish Culture Month

Throughout Jewish Culture Month

Event details

Across TV, and Radio

To reflect the inaugural Jewish Culture Month, the BBC will show a variety of programming across its platforms.

BBC Radio will feature a range of voices and perspectives exploring Jewish faith and culture across Radio 4 programmes, including Prayer for the Day and Sunday, to offer insight into Jewish belief, tradition and contemporary life.

As part of Radio 4’s wider commitment to religious and cultural storytelling, Jewish contributors also feature across the network’s factual and speech output, sharing the diversity of Jewish experience in the UK and beyond.

On TV audiences will be able to watch Growing Up Jewish on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, a documentary from 2024 about four young people on the cusp of adulthood as they prepare for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah; and on BBC Four there will be a chance to see the documentary Gluck, first shown in 2017, exploring the life of the artist Gluck (born Hannah Gluckstein).

Tim Pemberton, Head of Religion and Ethics, BBC Audio says: “Jewish voices and perspectives are an important part of our programming on the BBC as part of our commitment to represent and portray all of the many communities and voices from across the UK. We look forward to bringing audiences a range of programming during Jewish Culture Month to celebrate and explore Jewish faith and life in modern Britain.”
