To ensure the success, safety, and integrity of Jewish Culture Month (JCM), all participating events must comply with the following terms of The Board of Deputies Charitable Foundation (the Board).
- Event Dates
Events must take place between 16 May and 15 June 2026. - Adherence to Selection Criteria
Events must align with the published criteria. The Board may withdraw support if an event conflicts with the ethos of the programme. - Public Accessibility
All events must be open to the general public. - Security Review
It is the responsibility of the event organiser to ensure an appropriate security review has been undertaken and liaised with CST and where possible the police. - Risk Assessment & Insurance
Organisers are responsible for completing an adequate risk assessment and having in place public liability insurance at a level for the scale of their event. - Legal Responsibility
Organisers must comply with all relevant UK laws relating to the promotion and organisation of the event, including licensing (event, music, performance and alcohol), safeguarding, copyright and trade mark clearance, advertising and promotion, and data protection and marketing. - Branding & Communications
JCM branding may only be used with approval of the Board and must follow the official guidelines provided. - Content & Conduct
- Events must reflect the inclusive, respectful ethos of JCM and must not promote political parties, campaigns, or hostile content.
- Organisers must ensure that participants in the event are not subjected to any form of discrimination based on sex, racial or ethnic origin, nationality, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation nor be subjected to any acts intended to cause offence, menace, distress or anxiety.
- The event must not promote, encourage, undertake or contain any unlawful or illegal activity, cause or content and must comply with all relevant UK laws including on the prevention of terrorism and anti-extremism.
- Cancellations & Changes
Organisers must notify the Board of cancellations or major changes. The Board may update or remove listings accordingly. - Data & Privacy
By applying, organisers consent to the use of their event details for coordination and publicity. Data will be handled under UK GDPR. - Feedback & Evaluation
Organisers may be asked to provide post-event data to support programme evaluation. - Branding & Participation
Jewish Culture Month is a trading name and project of the Board. - Suspension and Removal
- The Board may suspend the promotion of any event that in the Board’s reasonable opinion does not comply with these terms – such suspension may be removed if the event organisers take all required steps to bring the event into compliance. Such suspension shall be made at the Board’s sole discretion.
- The Board may also, in addition to or instead of any suspension, remove the event from promotion and/or participation in JCM if in the Board’s reasonable opinion the event organisers are in material breach of these terms. Such removal shall be made at the Board’s sole discretion.
- Event Organiser Responsibility
All events that are not listed as Board of Deputies events are arranged and managed by the organisation or individual listed as ‘organiser’. The Board accepts no responsibility for such events and responsibility remains with the organiser. - Event Information & External Links
